The Oetiker 178 Series Stepless Screw Clamp has a precise tongue-in-groove (stepless) design which provides a smooth inner band circumference with no steps or gaps, guaranteeing a 360 degree uninterrupted seal. The 178 series are manufactured with rounded edged bandsteel that prevents damage to the hose.

Selection: Measure the outside diameter (O.D.) of the hose to be clamped. Select a clamp with an average size range that is close to the hose’s O.D. An optimal clamp size will allow the hose’s O.D. to fall in the middle of the clamp’s size range.
Clamping Procedure: After assembling the hose, use an Oetiker® ear clamping tool to compress the clamp’s first ear, followed by clamping the second. The clamp’s ears should be reduced in size by at least 40% to provide enough clamping force. If sized correctly, the clamp’s ears should not close completely during compression.
